Check out the Oregon Green Tech Certificate. The Oregon green Tech certificate will prepare employees with the foundation skills needed in a variety of industries that are associated with or support "green jobs". 

While it may ultimately be adopted statewide, the Oregon Green Tech Certificate is being designed to meet the unique needs of rural Oregon, where companies tend to be smaller, many occupations may have only one or two local job openings, and employers need workers who have basic technical skills that can transfer to different kinds of work and work settings as employer requirements and labor market demands shift.

The primary intended outcome of the Green Certificate program is placement in a variety of entry level positions across a number of industries, building an in-demand set of skills that will allow program graduates to advance rapidly in a variety of current and emerging occupational areas across Oregon;s rural communities. National Career Readiness Certificate

Oregon's National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is a hiring tool that helps employers identify qualified job applicants.Individuals who earn a certificate have demonstrated the foundational skills critical to success in nearly every job.

These skills are: Applied Math, Reading for Information and Locating Information.

Oregon’s NCRC can be incorporated into an organization’s existing hiring practices. As an objective measure, it is used as one factor in many to help determine an applicant’s fit for a job. Oregon's NCRC is guided by a partnership of public and private leaders, and will be available statewide by the end of the 2010.
